National Convenience Distributors (NCD)—the fourth largest convenience store distributor in America– held their final trade show of 2021 on Thursday Nov. 18 at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, garnering 180 vendors and over 400 retail customers from across the Northeastern United States.
The show included both independent and well-known vendors, whose booths offered free food and beverage samples, giveaway items, demonstrations and striking discounts to attendees. But the best part of all— the 3,200 square foot convenience store. Assembled by NCD’s merchandising team, the live and fully functional convenience store allowed retail partners to check out high-end food service programs, as well as countless product displays to provide design inspiration to customers.
“It’s our collaborative effort and dedication to creating face-to-face connections with our vendors and customers that sets us apart, and this event was no exception,” said Steve Peterson, Executive Vice President of Sales at NCD.
NCD also set up a “Specialty Spotlight” for socially responsible, environmentally friendly and health-conscious brands to better represent the evolving demand and champion their cause.
“In researching the latest trends, we have found that today’s up and coming generations are looking for indulgent snacks with some sort of purpose whether it be for the planet, humanity or to benefit their health,” said Erin Mercolino-Nigro, Senior Director of Chain Sales and Innovation at NCD. “Mindful snacking is where we are seeing substantial growth in our market.”
As their 2021 event series comes to a successful close, NCD is looking forward to further connecting with their vendor and customer partners in the new year.
