Last weekend, Erin Mercolino-Nigro and Steve Peterson of National Convenience Distributors took part in Angels Giving Back’s annual 5K race. Alongside their families, Mercolino and Peterson demonstrated NCD’s commitment to their customer partners.
Angels Giving Back was formed in honor of Mario and Valia Coletta, the founders of Colbea Enterprises and the Seasons Corner Market. Because NCD’s New England Division, J. Polep Distribution Services, has served the Coletta’s business for several decades, J. Polep has been dedicated to supporting Angels Giving Back’s fundraising efforts since the nonprofit’s founding.
“It was so nice to spend time on a beautiful day with this amazing group of people outside of our traditional environment and all come together for such a great cause contributing to multiple charities that are so near to our client’s heart, honoring the memory of [the Coletta’s],” said Mercolino, NCD’s senior director of chain sales and innovation.
The Coletta’s were heavily involved in their community, and to continue their legacy, Angels Giving Back hosts an annual 5K and golf tournament that contribute to charities such as The Tomorrow Fund for children with cancer, the Alzheimer’s Association and the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.
“It was an awesome way to spend a Saturday with great people and for a tremendous cause,” said Peterson, NCD’s executive vice president of national sales. Peterson’s wife, Lisa, even took 15th place in the 5K.
Team NCD looks forward to Angels Giving Back’s upcoming golf tournament, Seasons Swing, in September!
